Are you afraid to be creative?

I think we all are.
Most of us want to be creative..but not too creative, as interesting as that might be.
I could write a lot more on that, but just think about it.

And I read this just a few minutes ago:
"Form is an instrument, not a tyrant"

I wonder what it would be like if we all really just went for it.

Making my room into more of a work space

So my room has been pretty trashed for the past couple weeks due to several projects and numerous failed attempts to arrange my room more like a studio, but I think i've found the solution. I decided to divide my room by a sheet 'wall'. Now my room is set up more like a studio, with a comfy nook for my bed.

^ thats the sheet, and below is the little loft division of where my bed is at.

I think it works, and i'm pretty proud..

Niceville Update

I haven't been home for long, but since i've been here i've come up with a lot of good ideas for some new projects..
I think they have a lot of potential, and will have a lot of importance...so I hope to share that will you all soon.
Sometimes a step back, and a look inside is all you need.

Fun with Lynda

Sadistic

So you have a sense of scale:

Some details:I decided on the last day to present it upside-down. I think it gives it a darker, more unsettling feel, as well as gives the viewer the chance to fill in some gaps.
But here's what it looked like right-side up. While making the piece, though, I turned it a bunch of different ways..

The two of them together; I just thought this looked sort of funny.

With this piece, I think there are a couple things I'll still work on. I need to finish up the sides, and maybe even take advantage of the deepness of the panel, and I'll probably work the nose back into the piece more; make it a little more integrated and less demanding.

Kind

I had a lot of fun making this, and a lot of things (like the creases in the fingers above) came on total incident. I'm pleased with how it turned out, and I'd like to make more things like this in the future.
By the way, it's suppose to be a 'kind' self portrait of me for my Illustration class. I was going to do a big painting (one that goes along with the post that precedes this one) but decided to make something three dimensional and more engaging.

Mono Madness

I've never done Monotypes before, but have wanted to for a while..
I'd like to keep trying and actually get good at it.
